Business Purpose:
The purpose of Manufacturing Supervisor (night shift) is to supervisor the Manufacturing Department within the guidelines established by the Manufacturing Manager to fulfill Haynes International mission statement, in regards to making quality products that meet the customer specifications, on time, and at a profit to Haynes International.

Role Qualifications: (Required) & (Preferred)

High School or equivalent (R), BS/BA (P)                                             

Five years working in a manufacturing environment (R), Tubular processing experience (P).

Areas of Knowledge:
Safety (R), Hastelloy and Titanium processing operations (P), problem solving techniques (R), Shop Floor Reporting (P), ISO requirements (P), Statistical Process Control (P) Lean Principles (P).

Supervision, computer literate, organization, and communication (R)

Global Accountabilities for the Role:

  • Safety- Provide a safe work environment and develop safe work habits. Conduct monthly safety meetings and any other safety meetings or activities as required by H.R. or the General Manager.
  • Environmental- Give full support to the function, interactions of the management systems subscribed by the facility (i.e. AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO).
  • Quality- Ensure all employees in the Manufacturing Department have been educated about the importance of Quality and what resources are required to maintain the highest quality product possible.
  • Productivity- Analyze and streamline areas of accountability to work as efficiently as possibility, and achieve productivity improvements.
  • Cost - Remain at or below budget in all areas of responsibility, strive to achieve “0” manufacturing variances.. 

Specific Accountabilities for the Role:

  1. Planning: Plan daily activities by using the work list provided by the Manufacturing Foreman and ensure priorities are followed and work is completed in the required time frame.
  2. Communications: Update the next shift of any problems incurred and the status of correcting those problems. Also, update the status of orders that are being processed. Communicate these updates to the Manufacturing Foreman; establish a common dialect between hourly employees and the Safety Department through monthly safety meetings.
  3. Leading: Encourage hourly employees to become decision makers in the problems that arise within their realm of  expertise; provide a work environment that is challenging and rewarding to employees; provide leadership for CIT  groups in your department and encourage participation.
  4. Organizing: Provide requested vacation to the Manufacturing Manager for approval; monitor route cards to ensure proper sequencing steps are being performed or deleted if not required; ensure material is staged and ready to process on key pieces of equipment when needed to minimize downtime.
  5. Personnel: Maintain Department employee records for each direct report in the  Manufacturing Department; maintain and update training records to meet the ISO guidelines; conduct annual performance reviews for each direct report.
  6. Process Control: Ensure Production personnel are working within the established Guidelines and controls of the process they are performing
