HAYNES^® 556^® alloy can be considered resistant to high-temperature oxidizing environments containing chlorine. Although not as resistant as HAYNES^® 214^® alloy at temperatures above 1650°F (900°C), 556 alloy has resistance comparable to that of 214 alloy at temperatures at or below 1650°F (900°C). This is shown by the test results given for 400 hour exposures at 1650°F (900°C) in a flowing gas mixture of Ar+20%O₂+0.25% Cl₂. Note that 556 alloy shows very low metal loss compared to most of the alloys tested, which included alloys 600, 625, INCONEL alloy 601 and HASTELLOY^® C-276 alloy.	Alloy 600
